The children are having a great time in the children's house.

Beatrice still loves to have practical tasks such as cleaning, laying the table etc. One day after bathing she went on with the bathroom. She cleaned up the bath and the rest of the bathroom. Actually she made it fairly well and afterwards she was very proud of her work. As the big girl among sisters and brothers she feels very responsible for the other kids. Therefore it is good for her to come out alone together with a grown up person, which happens from time to time and she enjoys it. She also needs to learn how to behave in shops and other places. She is doing fine in the kinder garten and she takes part in all activities. She has made great progress and her teacher is very satisfied with her.

Beatrice of 6 years is the eldest in the family of 5 sisters and brothers. She is practical and likes to help. She loves to get tasks. She can now grow up together with her 4 younger sisters and brother in safe environments because it was possible for us to have all five of them.
She is always very active and loves to climb and crawl wherever possible. This summer she has learned to ride on a bicycle together with Bianca and when possible, they rush around on our two small bicycles on the road. She is a little mum and feels great responsibility for her sisters and brother. Fortunately, she doesn't have to be mum for them any more.

Bianca is a more quiet and considered little girl. She is still developing her language and she has a good memory. She sings and quotes poetry at any occasion. At home, in the car etc. She also composes melodies and words of her own. She loves animals and her favourite movie is 101 Dalmatians. She is a little jealous and likes to compete with big sister Beatrice. She has a great need for confidence and care and she needs healing for things that happened before she came to the Children's House.

Bianca of 5 years is developing very well. She has been in hospital and has had her adenoids removed. She speaks well for her age, loves music and singing. There was an arrangement for parents in the kindergarten with singing and dancing. There she was very active and enjoyed the singing and dancing. When she is doing something, she is very focused. Bianca is very fond of animals and her favourite story is a book about a little girl having a dog. She has a little doll dog that she takes good care of.

Andreea is accident-prone but she has made great progress. Emotionally she is the steadiest. She doesn't demand so much adult contact. For some reason she loves hiding things under her pillow or duvet. She is doing fine in the kinder garden and has come into the questioning age... She is a happy and bright little girl.

Andreea is 4 years of age. She understands a lot but is not talking so much. A quiet and reflective little girl. She likes food and loves when it is eating time. She tries pertinaciously to eat nice although she doesn't always succeed. She likes to play alone and makes up things she can play. As all the others, she needs encouragement and love. Sometimes she offers a kiss... to get attention.

Alexandra has developed her language a lot and has learnt to use the toilet. She is a sensitive and loving girl. She can also be timid and needs confidence. However, she has become more self-confident. She joined a visit to Poul, who came to the Children's House at the beginning together with her. He is now living with his grand mother. They spent a super afternoon together and she gave him a goodbye kiss when they parted. She was very happy and sang at the top of her voice on the way home in the car.

Alexandra of 3½ years is a lively little girl. She used not to talk at all. Now she is talking – a lot. She values to be corrected so she gets the right pronunciation. She wants to learn correctly and is energetic in doing it. She is very sensitive and must have things explained very well, so she knows exactly what is going to happen. She is very conscious about what clothes she wants to wear and loves looking at herself in the mirror.

Eduard is pleased with the kinder garten. Last time he was picked up he proudly showed what he had made and insisted to put on clothes and shoes by himself. He has started talking a lot so you can really have a conversation with him. He has temper and can be pretty heated if things don't pass according to his will. He has come at an assertive age – just reached 3 years. For his birthday he got a guitar with sound, which he is very fond of. His favourite book is The Jungle Book – he loves to hear the stories in it. He is also timid and needs confidence and love.

Eduard 2½ years is a sweet little boy. He is good at playing and wants to help. When there is an opportunity to offer himself, he is on the spot.

In November Violeta had a bad attack of asthma and had to be taken acute to the hospital for treatment. She improved but not enough, so she has been seeing a specialist in Cluj. The treatment there showed a perceptible difference after a month and she is fine now. There are attacks from time to time, but they are not so intense. She is very happy and has become more open for giving and taking. She used to be more independent and kept the distance. She still has a lot of temper. She has started talking, but still she cannot give expression to what is wrong. She likes building with bricks and is able to put the toys back after playing.

Violeta 1½ years old has problems with asthma and bronchitis. Sometimes she must go to the hospital and have oxygen 3 times a day. She is very temperamental and knows what she wants and especially what she doesn't want. She is a happy and active girl like her older sister Beatrice.
Both Eduard and Violeta have been evaluated by the authorities (Protection of Children). The staff members there were positively surprised and could hardly recognise the children again.

Mihai tears about on his small legs and loves his freedom. He likes to be with the big ones and enjoy coming out in the fresh air. He has got more teeth and is now getting more solid food, so he sleeps well at night. Started saying words like mama, papa... He is an active, happy and easy little boy.
Sept. 2006
Mihai of 9 months. He was born prematurely and was very thin when he came to the children's house. He is gaining weight and can walk at hand now. He is running a walking chair, rises in the bed and is crawling around as much as he can. He is happy and lively.

Alexandru has just become one year and is developing fine. He can say a few words like mama and papa. He has had a period where he has been in poor health and has not eaten very much. Now he is happy and fine again. He eats with the big ones and gets more solid food – and insists to do it on his own. Very interested in cables and socket outlets and fast running after an open door – a real little boy.

Alexandru, also called Alex of 7 months is eating well and is developing well. He has his first two teeth and can sit on his own. He has also had a bad bronchitis but is well again. He is a mild and happy boy.
