Kirsten Grarup is the foster-mother of Alina Chipriotis and Cosmin Toderas. Kirsten settled in Romania February 1993 after being a volunteer at a State-orphanage right after the revolution which removed the president from power and uncovered the disastrous situation the nation –once one of the richest in Europe- had come into.

Both her kids came to her when they were 10 years old. Now they are both adults: Alina lives at home and studies at the University while Cosmin stays with a new family and he works in their company.

New leaders have come up around Kirsten, and the second generation is taking over the baton and walking in her footsteps. Her heart and efforts have created a lot of respect and recognition among the relevant authorities and in the municipality.

In her spare-time Kirsten is very involved in the children’s house Copii Copii.
